Role Overview
You'll serve as a key HR/Admin partner for both contractors and internal staff. You'll also support internal employee HR processes (payroll, benefits, term/offer letters, etc.). You will be the first point of contact for many HR and contractor related issues, working closely with Leadership, HR, Ops, Payroll, and Sales.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage contractor care: timesheets, contractor onboarding (contracts, background & compliance checks), contractor classification (W2, 1099, C2C, LLC matters)

· Maintain compliance documentation: I-9, E-Verify, multi-state payroll compliance, contractor paperwork
· Support benefits enrollment and follow-ups for contractors and staff
· Monitor & resolve payroll discrepancies for contractors & employees
· Own shared HR/contractor email inboxes; respond to queries in a timely, service-oriented manner
· Maintain accurate employee/contractor records and folders
· Reporting: prepare standard HR/contractor reports (e.g. status of onboarding, missing timesheets, compliance metrics)
What We're Looking For
· Proven administrative experience (HR, onboarding etc.), preferably with contractor or staffing exposure
· Understanding of employment classification types (W2, 1099, C2C, LLC) and multi-state compliance
· Strong attention to detail, able to follow existing processes reliably
· Comfortable learning and using HRIS / payroll systems (e.g. Paychex, Mercury, etc.)
· Good communicator: responsive, approachable, and able to manage internal and external stakeholder expectations
· Ability to take initiative within defined scope and escalate when needed
Reporting & Growth
· Reports directly to the Director of People Operations
· Entry point role with opportunity to specialize (Contractor HR, Compliance, Payroll)
· As Oscar grows, this role may evolve into more senior or specialist HR/Contractor Ops functions
