The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Human Resources Directorate (HR) – DG Office & Strategy Division (COORD) – Strategy, Risks & Processes Unit (SRP), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st April 2025)
(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Objective of the traineeship
You will support the Strategy, Risks & Processes Unit of the Human Resources Directorate (HR/COORD/SRP) delivering its services in the areas of risk management, controls and process management as well as Audit remediation. Through their involvement, you will learn about the objectives and challenges of the EIB, acquire practical knowledge of how we work in these areas, increase professional experience, acquire subject matter expertise in risk management, process design and control assessment as well as apply and develop transferrable skills including organisation and communication.
Responsibilities
You will support the team in the areas of HR risk management, including support for following-up across all HR functions on:
Occasionally, you may be asked to support also on any of the areas covered by the team: Strategy & projects, Governance (e.g. HR's action-points), Process management, Risk management, Audits & Reviews, internal administration.

- Risk assessment and testing under the Bank's Internal Control Framework
- Internal Audit remediation plans
- Governing Body actions
- Operational Risk Events
- Risk assessments, testing, and reporting (Key Risk Indicators, Risk Appetite Framework)
Occasionally, you may be asked to support also on any of the areas covered by the team: Strategy & projects, Governance (e.g. HR's action-points), Process management, Risk management, Audits & Reviews, internal administration.
More In Detail, Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
- Register various requests in the mentioned areas
- Plan HR's response and monitor deadlines
- Update action-trackers
- Participate to meetings with internal HR colleagues and colleagues from corporate services
- Document tasks and processes
- Search and collect background information needed to address the mentioned areas
- Assess and summarise requests and documents, highlighting priorities and proposing solutions / actions.
- Final year of studies or university degree in a related subject, such as Business Administration, Human Resources, Law, Accounting or Engineering.
- Any knowledge or prior exposure to the responsibilities of this traineeship will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools. Familiarity with Visio or an equivalent process mapping tool would be an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of another EU language would be an advantage.
