You will partner with leaders and supervisors to tailor workforce strategies that address business needs, balance risk and promote compliance, with a focus on workforce planning, employee relations, role design, recruitment, workforce analytics, safety and wellbeing and business capability.
The role is instrumental in aligning the employee experience with shared values and culture across the National Injury Insurance Agency, Qld (NIISQ Agency), Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) and Nominal Defendant (ND), collectively referred to as the Motor Accident Insurance Schemes in Queensland, or MAIS-Q. The employing entity for this position is the NIISQ Agency.
Your role
- Provide expert advice, coaching and support to business leaders and supervisors on a broad range of workforce matters, collaborating with various teams and stakeholders to develop and implement solutions.
- Develop and implement briefs, correspondence, policy, presentations, training, tools and content to address workforce challenges and issues and build capabilities across diverse business functions and teams.
- Manage sensitive or complex case matters (e.g. performance, conduct, complaints, grievances, discipline, claims, RTW, ill health retirement, reviews or appeals) including timely communication with relevant parties, providers, decision makers and authorities.
- Lead or contribute to the delivery and maturation of key workforce reports, measures and insights for internal and external stakeholder audiences on a monthly, quarterly, bi-annual or ad-hoc basis. Interrogate systems and analyse trends to better inform and enable quality decision-making.
- Deliver improvements to local people and culture policy, governance, process and practice frameworks, assisting the Manager Workforce Services and Executive to monitor and implement reforms and developments in legislation, employment frameworks, strategic and operational plans.
- Supervise, support and mentor developing team members. Maintain effective work systems and embrace technology and tools to plan and organise tasks, deliverables, team workflows, information and records.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a strong commitment to shared values, and a broad skillset that includes:
- Highly developed HR practitioner expertise and knowledge of relevant legislation, instruments and policy frameworks, ideally coupled with one or more areas of HR specialisation.
- Proven flexibility, judgement and perseverance to prioritise, lead and manage complex casework and projects to completion.
- Ability to deliver solutions in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment using collaborative, lean, agile and consultative approaches to service delivery and change.
- Promoting and fostering behaviours that help build a healthy, safe and inclusive workplace and innovative team culture.
