We are looking for a seasoned and strategic Senior Communications Manager to shape, drive and deliver Cosylab’s internal and external communications. This role combines high-level planning with hands-on execution and acts as a key communication partner to leadership, working across departments to build alignment, engagement, and external visibility.
About the Role
You will lead cross-functional communication initiatives, manage stakeholder relationships, and help define messaging that reflects Cosylab’s mission, impact, and culture. This is a senior individual contributor role with responsibility to cooperate with internal stakeholders and organizational units, coordinate external partners, and influence the evolution of communications practices and infrastructure.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Design and drive integrated communication strategies that serve both internal and external audiences, aligned with business priorities and brand positioning.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping craft and deliver key corporate messages, change communications, and strategic updates.
- Lead internal communications across the company — from messaging frameworks and leadership communications to campaigns that build understanding, connection, and culture.
- Manage external communications efforts, including media relations, academic, public and governmental sector engagement, and visibility within the science and technology ecosystem.
- Proactively identify communication opportunities and risks and manage responses to sensitive issues or reputational challenges in collaboration with leadership.
- Create and oversee high-quality content across formats (written, visual, digital), ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and impactful.
- Coordinate external partners or agencies, as needed, to support press outreach, campaigns, or employer branding.
- Track communication effectiveness, using both analytics and qualitative feedback to continuously improve reach, clarity, and engagement.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 6–8+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or public affairs — ideally within complex or mission-driven organizations.
- Strong strategic instincts and the ability to move fluidly between planning, advising, and execution.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in Slovene and English.
- Proven experience working with executives and handling complex or sensitive messaging.
- Track record of building engagement and alignment through thoughtful, well-timed communications.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships, media contacts, or institutional partnerships.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to lead through influence and trust rather than authority.
- Experience with comms tools/platforms and a good sense for channels, audience segmentation, and content planning.
What we offer
- Employment contract for an indefinite period with a six-month probationary period.
- A work environment with flexible working hours and a hybrid work model.
- Plenty of personal and professional growth opportunities combined with a competitive and periodically updated salary tailored to your skills, experiences, and results.
- Interesting work, full of challenges in an international working environment.
- High-impact learning culture: regular in-house and external training sessions and a team of international professionals eager to help you grow.
- Many recreational after-work activities, unlimited coffee, soft drinks, fruit, and other well-being goodies.
- Cosylab events (Teambuilding, Picnic, New Year’s Party, …).
- Casual atmosphere with friendly faces where you can completely “be yourself.”
You will fit perfectly if you share these values
- Think bold: We deliver exceptional solutions through courageous thinking, open communication, and the drive to continuously improve.
- Be modest: We set our egos aside in actively listening, respecting one another, and embracing the diversity of experience and perspective across the company.
- Work smart: We know we get more accomplished by working together, being accountable, focusing our efforts, and going the extra mile.
- Enjoy life: We prioritize balance and positivity, nurturing personal wellness and celebrating successes.
- Do good: We support one another and are passionate about solving difficult problems that ultimately help make the world a better place.
