A Senior Full Stack Developer is required by a market leading scale-up in Amsterdam. The organisation is rapidly expanding, due to another successful round of funding, and the product development team has some very exciting plans over the next 12 months and beyond.

The Senior Full Stack Developer will enjoy a varied role solving complex engineering challenges, working on the existing codebase, APIs, and related UI. You will also play a key role in the design and development new features for the platform, and making architectural decisions on the back-end.

The ideal candidate will lean towards back-end development using Typescript and Node.js but have a strong appreciation for front-end development and good knowledge of Javascript and related frameworks such as React, Angular, and / or Vue.

The Senior Full Stack Developer will also possess a strong passion for coaching and mentoring, and will enjoying leading teams and engaging in technical discussion around design, development and software engineering best-practice.

The Senior Full Stack Developer Engineer must be a passionate technologist with an interest in emerging and interdisciplinary topics including machine learning, data analytics, computational modelling etc. You will also enjoy experimentation with new technologies outside your comfort zone such as Rust, Python, Nest.js, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, Express.js etc).

To Summarise, the Senior Full Stack Developer will have the following skills and competencies:

• Proven experience as a Senior Full Stack Developer with a strong background in back-end development using Typescript and Node.js
• Proven track-record solving complex engineering challenges and making architectural decisions on the back-end
• Solid understanding of API and User Interface development (REST API etc)
• Passion for leading, coaching and mentoring teams and a strong desire to move into a leadership role
• Strong appreciation of front-end development using JavaScript although you will lean more towards the back-end
• Good experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue
• Passion for new technologies outside of your comfort zone (Rust, Python, Next.js, NoSQL, SQL, Express.js etc)
• Strong communication, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Commercial experience using Git
• Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
