Are you looking to kick-start your development career with a fast-growing ecommerce business? Our client, a successful online retailer based in Maidstone, is seeking a Junior PHP Developer to join their in-house tech team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with experienced developers, gain hands-on experience in a commercial environment, and build your skills across the full development lifecycle.

About the Role

As a Junior PHP Developer, you’ll be helping to maintain and enhance the company’s ecommerce platform, supporting new feature development, bug fixes, and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable PHP code under the guidance of senior developers
• Assist with the development of new features and integrations
• Maintain and improve existing codebase and troubleshoot issues
• Collaborate with the wider ecommerce and marketing teams to deliver business objectives
• Test and debug code to ensure reliability and performance

What We’re Looking For

• 1–2 years of experience with PHP (commercial or strong personal projects)
• Basic understanding of MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Familiarity with version control (Git)
• Exposure to MVC frameworks (Laravel, CakePHP etc)
• Problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
