📍 Location: Maidstone (5 days per week, fully on-site)

Are you looking to kick-start your development career with a fast-growing ecommerce business? Our client, a successful online retailer based in Maidstone, is seeking a Junior PHP Developer to join their in-house tech team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with experienced developers, gain hands-on experience in a commercial environment, and build your skills across the full development lifecycle.
About the Role
As a Junior PHP Developer, you’ll be helping to maintain and enhance the company’s ecommerce platform, supporting new feature development, bug fixes, and system improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable PHP code under the guidance of senior developers
- Assist with the development of new features and integrations
- Maintain and improve existing codebase and troubleshoot issues
- Collaborate with the wider ecommerce and marketing teams to deliver business objectives
- Test and debug code to ensure reliability and performance
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of experience with PHP (commercial or strong personal projects)
- Basic understanding of MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with version control (Git)
- Exposure to MVC frameworks (Laravel, CakePHP etc)
- Problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
