We are seeking an accomplished technology leader to define, execute, and scale the technology vision for a cutting-edge cryptocurrency exchange platform. This role requires a strategic yet hands-on professional with deep expertise in fintech, security, and large-scale systems. The CTO will drive innovation, ensure platform resilience, and lead a high-performing engineering organization in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Vision

Define and implement a forward-looking technology strategy aligned with business objectives.
Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to strengthen security, scalability, and performance.
Own and oversee the technical roadmap for long-term platform growth and innovation.

Product Development

Lead end-to-end design, development, and deployment of a secure, scalable cryptocurrency exchange.
Partner with product and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence and user-centric design.
Establish and promote best practices in engineering, architecture, and testing.

Team Leadership

Build, mentor, and lead a world-class engineering organization.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
Recruit, develop, and retain top technical talent, while supporting career growth.

Infrastructure & Operations

Oversee resilient, secure, and scalable infrastructure optimized for cryptocurrency trading.
Implement advanced cybersecurity measures to prevent hacks, fraud, and DDoS attacks.
Ensure compliance with global regulations including KYC/AML, GDPR, and related frameworks.
Manage relationships with vendors, cloud providers, and technology partners.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with executive leadership to align technology with business growth strategies.
Collaborate with compliance, marketing, and customer success to support product adoption.
Communicate technical vision clearly to non-technical stakeholders, investors, and partners.

Innovation & Growth

Lead R&D efforts to explore new features such as DeFi integrations, wallet innovations, and trading tools.
Introduce modern tools, frameworks, and processes to drive efficiency and performance.
Support fundraising by presenting the company's technology vision to investors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Experience

10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years in senior leadership (CTO, VP of Engineering, or equivalent).
Proven success leading technology in startups or high-growth environments, ideally in fintech or crypto.
Hands-on experience scaling financial systems or trading platforms with millions of users.
Strong background with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern programming languages (Python, Go, JavaScript, etc.).

Technical Skills

Deep expertise in cybersecurity, wallet security, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
Experience with APIs, microservices, real-time data processing, and high-frequency trading systems.
Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and continuous delivery practices.

Leadership & Soft Skills

Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities with a track record of scaling high-performing teams.
Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and execution capabilities.
Strong communication skills, adept at presenting complex ideas to both technical and business audiences.
Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Advanced degrees or certifications (MBA, PMP) are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous CTO or equivalent leadership role in a fintech or crypto startup.
Recognized presence in the technology community or contributions to open-source projects.
In-depth knowledge of blockchain, crypto exchange platforms, or decentralized finance (DeFi).
