UX Designer

Our state government client is looking for a UX Designer, You’ll define and implement scalable design strategies, guide adjacent design efforts, and challenge conventional thinking to elevate user experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with engineers to communicate and implement design intent
• Using data and metrics to evaluate product impact and inform design decisions
• Driving design improvements based on UX testing and stakeholder feedback
• Building consensus and communicating design strategy across teams
• Creating design solutions aligned with user insights and business goals
• Leading holistic design processes and systems across products
• Guiding and mentoring other UX designers and conducting user research
• Applying and adapting UX frameworks, tools, and accessibility standards

What you'll need to succeed

• 2+ years of hands-on experience using Figma for design systems, prototyping, and collaboration
• Proven experience working within a large enterprise environment, navigating complex organisational structures and delivering design at scale
• Proficiency in data analysis, synthesis, and strategic planning
• Strong foundation in product design and interactive technology
• Deep understanding of UX research methodologies and the product development lifecycle
• Aesthetic sensibility and insight into user behaviour.
• Excellent storytelling, presentation, and systems-thinking skills
• High level of craft skills and attention to detail
• A UX/UI Designer who will report to the Design Manager, and be responsible for:
• Participating in design sprints. This is a fast-paced, agile environment of research, prototyping, testing and iterating.
• Creating low to high fidelity prototypes using our existing Figma Design System, which is based on the Salesforce Lightning Design System. They need to reflect an understanding of inclusive design principles and web standards.
• Testing designs with users and iterating accordingly.  Reviewing wireframes to ensure the Figma Design System is applied correctly, and making improvements to Figma components where necessary.
• Writing functional user stories in Jira for the development team (our Business Analyst helps with technical calculations).  Working with the design manager to determine research strategy and carry out research activities for different aspects of the product. Your communication skills and collaborative way of working are essential in this role.

Base pay rate: $650.00+super

Contract duration: 12 months +
