About the role


Sydney Airport is seeking a Cyber Governance Consultant to join our dynamic Facilities and Asset Management team. This role plays a pivotal part in safeguarding our technology and data assets, ensuring compliance with key cyber security frameworks, and driving continuous improvement across our governance and assurance programs.


As a trusted advisor within the Cyber Security function, you’ll lead supplier security assessments, manage compliance activities, and contribute to our broader risk and reporting initiatives. You’ll work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure Sydney Airport remains resilient, secure, and forward-thinking in its cyber practices.


In this role, you will have the opportunity to


  • Lead and manage supplier security assessments, ensuring quality and transparency of vendor risks
  • Coordinate compliance activities across ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, ASD Essential 8, and internal/external audits
  • Manage and maintain the Information Security Management System (ISMS) aligned to ISO and NIST standards
  • Contribute to vulnerability management and cyber-related risk reporting
  • Collaborate with internal teams across legal, risk, operations, and privacy to support secure delivery of business initiatives
  • Support the development and delivery of cyber awareness and training programs


About you


You’re a proactive and detail-oriented cyber professional with a passion for governance and assurance. You bring:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in Cyber Security Governance, ideally with a focus on vendor security management
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 27001/27002/27005/31000, NIST, Essential 8, PCI-DSS, and ISMS frameworks
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across teams
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in risk, business, or related fields
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes
