Are you looking to kickstart your career in Cyber Security? We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our client, a local council in Western Sydney as a Cyber Security Trainee on a long term contract.
This role is perfect for a recent graduate or someone with foundational knowledge in cyber security who is eager to develop their skills in a supportive environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting the Cyber Security team with day-to-day operations, monitoring, and incident response.
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of security frameworks such as the Essential Eight.
- Learning how to manage and improve cyber security controls across systems and applications.
- Collaborating with IT and business teams to promote best practices in information security.
- Participating in training, mentoring, and hands-on projects to grow your technical expertise.
- A keen interest in Cyber Security, with some knowledge of security principles or frameworks (e.g. the Essential Eight).
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. IT, Cyber Security, Computer Science) or equivalent knowledge/experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and build a long-term career in Cyber Security.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- 3-year structured trainee program with mentoring and on-the-job training.
- Exposure to a wide range of security tools, frameworks, and practices.
