Senior Project Manager – Cybersecurity




We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in cybersecurity to lead and coordinate multiple projects aimed at enhancing the university's security posture. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our university's cybersecurity framework.




WHAT’S ON OFFER



  • $1000.00 a Day Inclusive of super.
  • Initial 6-Month engagement, with possibility of extension.
  • Melbourne CBD.
  • Hybrid working model, 2 days in office.
  • Exposure to working alongside a well-established Australian Uni.





THE ROLE:



  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of cybersecurity projects, including risk assessments, threat mitigation, and compliance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams, academic departments, and administrative units to ensure seamless project integration and alignment with university goals.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely and within-budget project completion.
  • Identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks, ensuring all projects adhere to best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and successes to stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports.
  • Foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:


  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager, with a strong focus on cybersecurity projects.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders through PPM reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of cybersecurity projects, including Certificate authorisation (CA) for intranet applications, API hardening management, and compliance uplift initiatives.
  • Extensive experience managing complex cybersecurity initiatives, including risk management, incident response, and compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Procure manage and work with external consultants and vendors and provide specialist knowledge, capability and components of project delivery
