Your Tasks
As part of our strategic AI initiative, we are looking for a hands-on AI Solution Engineer who will drive the implementation of our first high-impact AI use cases. You will work closely with domain experts across our organization, build our internal AI stack, and deliver functional prototypes that bring real business value. This is a critical early-stage role with high visibility and the opportunity to shape how AI is used across the company.
- Design and implement scalable AI/ML solutions based on identified use cases
- Set up and maintain our internal AI development environment (local or cloud-based)
- Collaborate closely with business units and domain experts to translate real-world problems into machine learning tasks
- Rapidly prototype solutions using structured and unstructured data
- Ensure high-quality documentation, versioning, and reproducibility of models and pipelines
- Interface with external AI partners or consultants, and manage the technical integration of third-party components
- Drive model evaluation, deployment, and monitoring in production or near-production environments
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in applied AI and help evaluate their potential for our business
Must-Have skills
- Relevant professional hands-on experience in applied machine learning, preferably in an industrial context
- Strong proficiency in Python and AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn
- Experience with LLMs and NLP frameworks
- Familiarity with MLOps tools
- Experience setting up and maintaining GPU-based local workstations or cloud-based AI infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Solid understanding of data workflows – from preprocessing to deployment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with non-technical stakeholders
- Very good English language skills are mandatory and German language skills are a plus
- Experience with visual AI (e.g., image classification, object detection)
- Exposure to manufacturing, or engineering domains
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
