The three labs serve as the platform enabling global customers, regulators and other stakeholders to perform independent security assessments of ZTE products, services and processes, and the platform for collaboration, communication and innovation in cybersecurity.


ZTE Germany Cybersecurity Lab is looking for motivated and dedicated Cybersecurity Test Engineers to join us. Position: Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Düsseldorf, Germany

Department: Cybersecurity Global Team

Job Type: Full-time, On-site

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Perform cybersecurity assessments and penetration testing on IoT products, telecom systems, and network/OT equipment, and prepare assessment reports for stakeholders.
  2. Identify and evaluate cybersecurity vulnerabilities, support mitigation planning, and participate in incident response and post-incident analysis.
  3. Lead security communications and technical exchanges with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Present security governance, concepts, practices and research results to customers during lab visits.
  5. Conduct advanced security research, including exploring new attack techniques, firmware analysis, and AI-based threat modeling.
  6. Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate security best practices into product development and ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., 3GPP, GSMA NESAS, ISO 27001).
  7. Lead and coordinate security projects to foster continuous improvement and proactive risk management.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Eligible to work and reside in Germany.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Security, Electronic Communication, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in security/penetration testing or related roles;
  • Proficient in mainstream security testing tools and methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of IoT architectures, network protocols, and telecom/OT systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken German and English.
  • Effective project management and teamwork skills, with experience in cross-functional security projects.
  • Proactive, fast learner, and able to drive technical innovation.



Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning applications in cybersecurity, including AI threat modeling, automated vulnerability detection, or adversarial attack/defense techniques.
  • Team or project leadership experience is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications: OSCP, OSWE,eWPTX, eCPTXv2, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of 5G/4G/2G architectures and common attack methods such as IMSI catchers, downgrade attacks, jamming, spoofing, and sniffing.
