The Group Analytics & Insights function are seeking a Data Analyst who will support the delivery of best practice analytics and reporting, within the Customer Data function, through the use of advanced analytical and data visualisation techniques and development of automated and streamlined analytics processes.

This position will involve working closely with stakeholders from all areas of the business, with a focus on developing actionable and value add insights for the business. Critical thinking and insight generation that is data lead will be core to the role.

Role Purpose

  • Complete exploratory and ad-hoc data analysis, reporting and design of dashboards with a view to generating actionables and enabling data-led decision-making.
  • Working with GAI and GCO teams to support data analysis work streams across strategic priority areas including Member Engagement Platform and Digitalise Member Journeys
  • Support the wider business areas, including the Retail Intermediary, to enhance and streamline existing reporting and help shape and deliver future reporting needs e.g further enhance and develop automation processes to increase efficiencies
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across the wider business, to ensure alignment of reporting and provide upskilling for data consumers across different business areas
  • Responsible for delivering the analysis and interpretation in a way that is “business-user” friendly and easy to interpret.
  • Develop and support the delivery of commercial and customer insights that can be shared with the business at all levels
  • Support the wider Group Analytics & Insights function and the wider business on initiatives and ad-hoc projects when required


Education & Experience

  • Hold a relevant primary degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics, or a relevant numerate degree.
  • Have 1-2 years hands on experience in a data analyst role, leveraging analytics tools (eg: SQL/Tableau), modelling techniques and data visualisation encompassing large volumes of data in a commercial setting
  • Demonstrated alignment to Vhi values

  • Advanced SQL and Tableau Skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work effectively independently or as part of a team and has an ability to work under pressure, achieve targets and meet deadlines
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels in a confident and engaging manner
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills - ability to present complex ideas to business users in an easily understood user friendly format
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Critical thinking, advanced problem solving and prioritisation skills.
