Network Engineer

Role Title: Network Engineer

Contract Type: Contract, 6 months

Project Overview

We are seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to support a large-scale global connectivity project involving up to 1,000 sites. This role is responsible for designing and deploying network solutions that align with business requirements. You will provide technical consultation to IT support teams, engineering groups, and business stakeholders, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable network operations.

The position requires not only strong engineering expertise but also solution design capability, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable network architecture with Cisco/Meraki technologies
• Configure and manage AWS networking services
• Implement and maintain VPN solutions
• Deploy and support Network Access Control solutions
• Define and manage firewall rules and security configurations
• Collaborate with vendors on procurement, licensing, and delivery
• Produce clear documentation, knowledge transfer materials, and network design artefacts
• Provide technical consultation to engineering teams and stakeholders
• Support project planning, testing, and deployment phases
• Coordinate across teams in multiple time zones (UK, Europe, US)

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, systems integration, or network design
• Hands-on expertise with Cisco/Meraki networking platforms
• Strong understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP
• Proficiency in AWS networking services (VPC, Subnets, Peering, EC2)
• Experience designing and implementing VPN policies and solutions
• Background in network security (firewall rules, NAC tools, RBAC)
• Proven ability to design solutions, not just troubleshoot existing networks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement

Nice to Have

• Experience with automation and scripting for deployments and operations
