We are looking for an innovative Senior Scala Engineer to join our team and help develop scalable solutions for inventory tracking functionalities.

In this role, you will focus on optimizing MySQL read/write operations, ensuring the scalability and stability of our core Inventory microservice, and contributing to our Google Cloud-hosted service-oriented architecture.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable and high-quality software products with a focus on testability and extensibility
• Participate in discussions to explore new technical solutions and architectures
• Review code written by peers to maintain and enhance engineering quality
• Foster a collaborative and positive team culture
• Make technical decisions that align with goals of quality, availability, and security

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software development, showcasing impactful projects
• Expertise in Scala and familiarity with GraphQL and REST API development
• Understanding of PHP, TypeScript, or both is desirable
• Solid grasp of programming principles without bias for specific technologies, with a focus on using the right tools for the job
• Background in MySQL performance optimization, scalability, and data (de-)normalization principles
• Proficiency in contributing to collaborative teams and delivering results efficiently
• Strong interpersonal skills for communication across Slack or email

Nice to have

• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
• Understanding of challenges related to asynchronous data projections
