The Role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll be a key member of our Product Development team. You'll take ownership of both manual and automated testing across our platform and APIs—ensuring each release is stable, secure, and high quality.


You’ll start by spending around 80% of your time hands-on with testing and automation, with the remaining time focused on improving QA workflows and tooling (including Zephyr).


Over time, we expect this to shift toward a 60/40 balance as you take on more strategic initiatives and leadership responsibilities.


When and Where

Our offices are in Sydney and London, however most of our Product Development team works remotely. Work where you feel the most comfortable and are most productive.

This role requires you to be within GMT+9 to GMT+12 to ensure effective collaboration with the team.

Your Duties

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for API and UI components.
  • Execute manual and exploratory testing of new features and changes.
  • Evaluate and verify software changes against acceptance criteria in JIRA.
  • Deploy and test changes in development environments and document results.
  • Collaborate with developers to refine automated test coverage and workflows.
  • Maintain and evolve test documentation and traceability in Zephyr.
  • Convert manual tests into automated Playwright test cases where applicable.
  • Integrate testing processes with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
  • Proactively test for edge cases, performance issues, and vulnerabilities.
  • Help define and track software quality metrics and benchmarks.
  • Drive process improvements that improve quality, speed, and visibility.
  • Mentor and collaborate with the development team to improve testing practices.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • At least 5 years of experience with application, system integration, backend, API, and end-to-end testing.
  • Hands-on expertise with tools like Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, or similar frameworks.
  • Strong programming knowledge in AWS, Laravel, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Proven ability to integrate and maintain automated tests and quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
  • You are known for your initiative and ability to work independently.
  • You thrive in environments that balance fast-paced innovation with structured workflows.
  • Whether highly experienced or still growing, you have a passion for mastering QA practices.
  • You value the flexibility of a remote-friendly work environment.


Desirable:

  • Experience with performance and load testing.
  • ISTQB Certification or equivalent qualification.
  • Familiarity with Playwright and Serverless testing approaches.
  • Knowledge of Bitbucket Pipelines and their integration into testing workflows.
