About the Role
This is a Software Engineer role, where you will be part of our strong team of experts across the country. You will be given the tools you need to advance your skills and experience, while adding true value to your career and our top tier client base. You will bring your coding expertise, business skills and understanding of modern cloud infrastructure along with a desire to continuously improve. This role is based in Adelaide, South Australia.
Responsibilities
- Analyse, define, and validate functional and non-functional requirements for medium to large projects.
- Identify system limitations, root causes of issues, and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop, review, and maintain software code to meet technical specifications and standards.
- Apply version control and branching strategies effectively.
- Work with containerised deployments, serverless infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
- Support the setup and improvement of code deployment frameworks.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, release notes, and installation plans.
- Maintain and refactor existing systems; review and approve code changes.
- Investigate and resolve software quality issues in production and non-production environments.
- Contribute to enterprise-wide quality strategies and manage quality risks with senior support.
- Apply defect management practices and write SQL queries to support testing.
- Update and execute automated test suites.
- Support environment and release management processes, including go-live planning.
- Trial and implement new quality engineering practices across the SDLC.
- Apply quality characteristics (e.g. performance, security, accessibility) to improve software quality.
- Mentor junior team members and guide teams on reducing early lifecycle defects.
- Continuously review and improve quality engineering processes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate effective application of various agile project activities and techniques such as stand-ups, iteration planning and execution, Kanban card walls and retrospectives.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (eg Bachelor of Software Engineering) with at least 2 years of work experience in a related discipline
- Strong working experience using programming languages. You are proud of the code you write and can understand object oriented programming and design patterns.
- CI/CD experience (eg Jenkins, GitLab, Teamcity)
- You have good understanding of GIT and versioning
- Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship management skills
