What you'll do
As a Software Engineer, you'll be embedded in a cross-functional product team alongside designers, product managers, and other engineers. You'll:
- Build and improve digital products that scale to millions.
- Apply modern engineering practices like TDD, pair programming, and CI/CD.
- Apply systems thinking and contribute to technical design - we'd love to see experience designing solutions in large or complex ecosystems.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, retros, and engineering community events.
- Continuously learn through hackathons, knowledge-sharing sessions, and our onboarding academy.
- Collaboration with engineers, product managers, designers.

What we're looking for
We're after curious, collaborative engineers who:
- Are full stack developers with experience in modern languages like Kotlin, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Angular, Node), Golang.
- Have experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerised infrastructure.
- Embrace XP practices and are open to learning and contributing to a strong engineering culture.
- Communicate well, enjoy working in product teams, and care about the end-to-end customer journey.
- Are interested in technical leadership, architecture, or growing into people leadership roles.

Our recruitment process
Our recruitment and assessment process is merit based. For this recruitment we will be conducting a minimum of three interview and assessment stages that form a comparative process.
This will include;
1. Panel behavioural interview
2. Coding challenge
3. Online cognitive and psychometric testing
4. Reference checks
A skill/technical based task may also be requested
Support office roles will be headquartered across McKell, Parramatta and Gosford. We will consider role headquarters outside of the above locations where the role can reasonably be performed from that location taking into consideration the operational, financial and customer requirements of the role, and an ability to attend a NSW Government workplace as required.
Salary Grade SNSW 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $105,986 base plus superannuation
