Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Data Analyst (Power BI). The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing large data sets, developing data models, and conducting statistical analysis to interpret data trends. The role also involves improving data collection processes, preparing reports and visualizations, and collaborating with team members to provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Design & UX: Wireframe, prototype, and build pixel-sharp Power BI reports with clear navigation, layouts, and interactions (bookmarks, field parameters, drill-through, tooltips).
• Apply data storytelling and UX best practices; ensure accessibility (contrast, keyboard nav, alt text).
• Create and maintain custom themes (JSON), visual standards, and a reusable report design system.
• Modeling & DAX (front-end focused)
• Shape star-schema models for usability and performance (dimensions, tidy relationships).
• Author robust DAX measures (time intelligence, segmentation, dynamic titles) with documentation and tests.
• Use Performance Analyzer/Benchmarks to optimize visuals, queries, and render times.
• Data Shaping (for report readiness)
• Use Power Query for light-to-moderate transformations that improve report usability.
• Partner with back-end teams on data contracts; advocate for front-end needs (grain, keys, metadata).
• Quality & Deployment
• Implement versioning and review via Tabular Editor/Deployment Pipelines; promote semantic consistency across workspaces.
• Configure RLS and object-level visibility in collaboration with the platform team.
• Establish usage analytics and iterate based on telemetry & stakeholder feedback.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
• Run discovery workshops, translate questions into metrics and visuals, and present insights clearly.
• Coach analysts on Power BI front-end best practices; contribute to enablement materials.
  

Qualifications

• Power BI front-end mastery: layouts, navigation patterns, bookmarks, field parameters, drill-through, tooltip pages, small multiples, Deneb/Charticulator (nice to have).
• Strong DAX and semantic modeling skills oriented to report usability and metric governance.
• Proficiency with Power Query for report-ready shaping.
• An eye for design and accessibility; comfort working from Figma or style guides.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder facilitation; concise storytelling with data.
• Strong problem solving and obsessive attention to detail; ability to work independently and remotely.
• Bonus: experience with Tabular Editor, Deployment Pipelines, Fabric/Dataflows Gen2, custom visuals, or performance tuning at scale.
