We are currently looking for an Junior /Mechanical Engineer to join a high profile data center project in Finland
EU Passport Holders Only will be considered for this role
Purpose of the Role
This role is focused on supporting the engineering team in delivering high-quality Mechanical engineering designs and solutions for both internal stakeholders and external clients. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the delivery of a major new data centre project in Finland.
Key Responsibilities
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration:
- Work cooperatively across engineering disciplines, contributing to and at times leading multi-disciplinary project teams in accordance with company procedures.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, sub-contractors, and specialist suppliers, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism in all communications and documentation.
- Resource and Cost Management:
- Ensure efficient use of company resources and sub-contract packages in line with project cost plans. Prepare cost estimates for electrical service implementation.
- Site Surveying & Design Development:
- Conduct site surveys to assess client needs, recommend solutions, and produce compliant, cost-effective electrical service designs that meet project timelines and user requirements.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Contribute to the preparation of health and safety method statements and risk assessments in line with current construction legislation.
- Tendering Support:
- Produce tender enquiry documentation for electrical service contracts. Assist quantity surveyors with tender evaluations.
- Project Oversight & Quality Assurance:
- Monitor and provide feedback on subcontractors’ work. Attend regular engineering meetings, remain up-to-date with legal and policy changes, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Client-Cantered Service:
- Deliver a high standard of professional engineering services aligned with the company’s quality assurance framework.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the data centre or mission-critical infrastructure environment
- Valid driver’s licence
- Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills
- Familiarity with European construction standards and safety legislation is a plus
