The department of Radiotherapy at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek has a leading role in the development and implementation of advanced radiotherapy. Our vision is clear: a data-driven, personalized, and efficient treatment will become the standard of care in the coming years. With this, we aim to offer every patient the best possible treatment.
At the same time, healthcare is under pressure: increasing patient numbers, limited staff availability, and the demand for innovation require smarter workflows and radical change. Advances in AI and data science open up exciting opportunities — but these must be translated into robust, clinically relevant solutions.
We are therefore looking for several clinical scientists to join our team. Each role has a different focus, but all share the same mission: to shape the future of radiotherapy through data-driven innovation, clinical impact, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
As a clinical scientist in our team, you may work on:
- AI & automation: Training and introducing new auto-segmentation models, AI image registration and/or reconstruction, supporting clinical adoption, and integrating with IT workflows.
- Workflow optimization & change management: developing protocols for efficient use of auto-segmentation, monitoring quality and time savings, and ensuring smooth clinical adoption. Implement and monitor state-of-the-art treatment delivery methods (e.g. online adaptive) and improve their (time) efficiency.
- Advanced AI & LLM applications: exploring the role of foundation models, agentic AI, and transformers for decision support, workflow automation, and auto-segmentation.
- Clinical integration: tackle the engineering and programming challenges required to bring technical innovations into workflows that benefit patients and staff alike.
Why Antoni van Leeuwenhoek?
