Role: Backend/AI Engineer (Node.js + AI)

Type: Full‑time · Remote‑first (CET ±2 preferred)

• Design and build scalable backend systems for 250,000+ users
• Build clean APIs for tutoring workflows (homework help, step‑by‑step explanations, exam prep)
• Integrate AI models into the product
• Design robust database schemas and optimize queries
• Own features end‑to‑end

• Learn quickly and deliver quality work under tight deadlines
• Have great taste for clean code and well-designed systems
• Love solving system design challenges
• Are passionate about AI integration

• 5+ years building backend systems with Node.js/TypeScript
• Strong system design skills—you know how to architect clean, scalable systems
• Expert with PostgreSQL—schema design, query optimization, and database best practices
• Experience building robust APIs that handle real-world complexity gracefully
• You write clean, maintainable code that other developers enjoy working with
• Fast learner who can pick up new technologies and deliver quality work under tight deadlines
• Strong TypeScript fundamentals and attention to code quality

• Experience with AI model integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc.)
• Startup experience and comfort with fast-paced development
• Experience with testing and maintaining high code quality
• Good instincts for performance optimization
