We are currently seeking a Global OT Network Architect to join our Operational Excellence team in Slovenia in an agile/ hybrid capacity. The role will support manufacturing operations, continuous improvement and capital projects.

Where You’ll Make a Difference

In this role, you will lead initiatives to enhance cybersecurity, data availability, digitalization, and productivity across our manufacturing systems. You will play a critical role in optimizing production efficiency through process control and technology improvements, acting as the key interface between Manufacturing Systems, IT services, and various support functions within the Taste Business Unit.

Operations & Project Support (70–100%)

  • Manage, implement and maintain OT networks (OMN & PCN): Oversee operations and external integrators, ensure network segmentation, continuity, and lifecycle management, including obsolescence evaluation and upgrade planning.
  • Design and implement OT network architecture: Define system architecture, select hardware (servers, switches, routers, NAS), and collaborate with global IT for network integration
  • Develop, manage and maintain documentation & knowledge base: Create and update design specifications, diagrams, firewall rules, test protocols, and reference tables for suppliers, software, and ports.
  • Ensure security and compliance: Define firewall rules for remote access and data extraction, coordinate software patching, and establish disaster recovery procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training: Support commissioning/testing (FAT/SAT), troubleshoot OT devices, manage IT ticket workflows, and train engineers on OT network usage and monitoring.

Continuous Improvement & Digitalization (0–30%)

  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Stay updated on regulations, best practices, and emerging threats; support IT/OT assessments and close gaps for digital projects.
  • Digitalization & Architecture: Implement digital architecture guidelines, define system requirements, and determine data connection needs across manufacturing sites.
  • Data Integration & Integrity: Troubleshoot software/process issues, ensure data consistency, and integrate large-scale data from multiple sources for business insights.
  • OT Network Optimization: Maintain and propose improvements for OT networks to enhance efficiency, reliability, and operational continuity.

What Makes You The Right Fit

  • Experience in network engineering focused on IT/OT integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and SCADA systems.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools
  • Strong understanding of hardware design and management, including industrial servers, control systems, firewalls, switches, routers, and storage solutions (SAN, NAS).
  • Solid knowledge of software and systems, including Microsoft OS (Win10/11, Server), Virtual Machines (Hyper-V, VMware), SQL databases, VLAN configuration, firewall management, and remote access tools.
  • Experience in project execution, including requirements definition, scope of work, specifications, testing, and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISA-95, ISA-99, IEC 62443, and 21 CFR Part 11
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to train and present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 10 - 20%.

How Would You Stand Out?

  • Strong affinity for process engineering in a production environment
  • Project organizational skills e.g. Prince II
  • Familiarity with OT/IT systems; certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CISSP and experience with historians (IP21, OSI PI, Aveva) and OPC-UA/Kepware are advantageous.
