Sateliot is a Barcelona-based Startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator that will provide global and continuous connectivity to all the elements that will make up the massive Internet of Things (IoT) universe under the 5G protocol.
In order to do so, Sateliot is launching a constellation of last generation nanosatellites, located at low altitude that act as mobile towers. Sateliot is the perfect complement for large telecommunications companies by providing them with the necessary infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not arrive.
YOUR MISSION
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will join the space technology team and work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary and talented engineering team to evolve Sateliot’s space technology capabilities to provide the first and best NB-IoT NTN service to emerging users around the world. This area is in charge of developing embedded software for a diverse range of space systems. As one of the first embedded software engineers you will play a key role on the implementation of the solution setting the bases of current and future generations of Sateliot
Your Main Functions
- Develop, implement, and maintain embedded software for satellite subsystems, focusing on robust and efficient solutions for NewSpace missions.
- Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers in an agile environment to define software requirements and interfaces for various space applications
- Design and execute software test plans and procedures for embedded systems, ensuring compliance with mission critical specifications and performance targets
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept and design to integration, testing, and in-orbit validation.
- Optimize software for resource-constrained environments typical of small satellite platforms, including power consumption and processing efficiency.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development practices, tools, and processes within the team.
- Document software designs, code, and test results to ensure maintainability and scalability for future generations of Sateliot's technology.
- Experience with embedded Linux is a plus.Proven experience (5+ years) in embedded software development for real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal environments, including FPGAs and microcontrollers.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming language.
- Experience with microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM, PIC, AVR) and associated peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, DAC).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with debugging tools and methodologies (e.g., JTAG, GDB).
- Understanding of hardware-software integration and debugging on embedded systems.
- Ability to read schematics and datasheets.
- Previous experience developing software for systems that must keek high reliability and availability at harsh environments, like high radiation levels, vacuum, extreme temperature, extreme pressure conditions, or similar
- Proactive and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for space technology and a desire to contribute to a pioneering project.
