The opportunity:


Applications are invited for a Lecturer (Assistant Professor or Høyskolelektor) position to join Noroff University College in Kristiansand, Norway. This post is a teaching position for the Bachelor programmes in Digital Forensics and Incident Response and Cyber Security. Applications are invited from candidates who have a strong technical competence and teaching abilities in the areas of incident response and cyber security.


At Noroff University College, we are an applied, teaching-focussed institution. Academic staff are expected to contribute to research that supports teaching and professional practice, but the primary emphasis of the role is on delivering high-quality applied teaching.

Your key responsibilities:

As an Assistant Professor at Noroff University College, you will:

  • Deliver, teach and assess/grade core and advanced topics at undergraduate level.
  • Be actively involved in teaching and shaping the discipline of incident response.
  • Develop and prepare course materials, assessments, and practical exercises.
  • Supervise and mentor student bachelor projects and contribute to skills development in technical contexts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and academic planning.
  • Participate in internal meetings, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Required qualifications (Assistant Professor):

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security, or a directly related field.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical teaching experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Incident Response – including threat detection, containment, and remediation
  • Malware analysis – the examination, and analysis of malware
  • Computer Networks – including TCP/IP, network protocols, and secure network design
  • Cyber Security Operations – defensive and offensive approaches
  • Operating Systems and Systems Architecture – with a focus on Windows and Linux environments
  • Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing – including manual and automated techniques
  • Solid understanding of applied computing, including networking, programming and operating systems


Experience we also value:

While not essential, the following will strengthen your application:

  • A PhD or significant progress towards a PhD in an appropriately aligned discipline, or comparable industry experience.
  • Experience working in a SOC, CSIRT, law enforcement, or cyber incident response team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., GCFA, GCIH, CHFI, OSCP, CEH, CISSP).
  • Proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language.
  • Formal pedagogical qualifications (training can be provided as part of the role).
  • Proven experience of teaching on a range of undergraduate courses including more specialist areas of Incident Response and Cyber Security at a higher education institution; or experience delivering technical training in an industry context.
