Title: Network Architect
Duration: 6+ months of Contract with possible extension of hire
Location: Ottawa, ON
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Should have Network transformation experience and with Cisco Nexus Switch & NetScaler Load balancer Migration project
- Proficient with Nexus Migration from legacy 9k,5k, 3K, 2k, Catalyst WS-C3850 to new Nexus N9K-C93180YC
- Migration experience of NetScaler Load balancer MPX8115 to MPX 9100
- Design and document HLD , LLD and Implementation plan.
- Should have Command level experience to perform offline configuration
- Must visit Datacenter, perform Rack & Stack for new devices.
- Strong knowledge on routing and switching , Load balancer concepts.
- Responsible for Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of network products like Router, switches, load balancers, WAN Accelerators etc.
- Knowledge and hands on experience (Configuring and Troubleshooting) in cisco Nexus devices and its concepts.
- Switching & Port-Channel – Suspended state, STP, RSTP, RSTP converges faster than STP, STP Port Roles, STP Blocking State, BPDU, STP Path Cost Value, TCN in RSTP, Port Roles in RSTP, HSRP and VRRP Load balancing, HSRP and VRRP Vlan redundancy.
- Practical knowledge on Nexus Devises such as Nexus 7k, Nexus 9k.
- Strong knowledge on Nexus Platform - VPC, VDC, LACP, VPC Peering, FEX, Fabric Path, VSS, VLAN , Access List, Vlan (L2, L3), Spanning-tree, VRF Context, Route-map
- Expertise in Routing protocols like RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
- Managing and monitoring of log files of cisco, network devices
- Actively participate in all the Major Incidents.
- Ensure proper communication and quick resolution
- Responsible for performing Root Cause Analysis of Faults and providing corrective Actions
- Regular IOS Updation and hotfixes
- Responsible for implementing best practice/hardening.
- Planning Major changes in the network and own the task till closure.
- Capacity planning of the network devices with proper recommendations.
- Providing Service Improvement Plans in the existing setup, identifying Risks.
- Preparation of Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports
- Escalation and coordination with service provider for issue resolution wherever required.
- Prepare and maintain Setup related documentation, operational and system documentation
- Ensure adherence to quality / security standards defined for the engagement Perform Trend analysis, identify top few incidents and work with respective teams/individual to minimize the incidents.
- Should have hands on experience in various networking products such as routers, switches, wireless, and load balancers.
- Knowledge of DNS, DHCP and related components.
- AAA, policies, SNMP and other Router Management options.
- Experience in configuring Trunk, VTP, and VLANs
- Experience in implementing switch port security.
- Experience in configuring IPSEC/GRE.
- Able to work independently and efficiently on Cisco AP's
- Develop and maintain architecture diagrams and documents.
