Position Title: NetOps NOC / Network Administrator III
Duration: 6+ month contract with likelihood for extension
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85003 - Hybrid ( May require onsite support for meeting or hands-on work, will primarily work from home. Must be willing to work overtime and rotating shifts as required. During changes and outages, the successful candidate will be expected to remain on-shift.)
Position Description
This position is responsible for network operation center (NOC) services including technical support, planning, forecasting, designing, project management, installation, monitoring and maintenance of the converged data/voice network.
Skills Required
- Assists in the technical support, problem resolution, planning, and managing of the converged data/voice network that includes wired and wireless technologies.
- Interact with customers as the primary point of contact for the network operations team.
- Prioritize, triage, and assign tickets that have been routed to the network operations team for resolution.
- Monitors the network for unauthorized activities; maintains network security.
- Act as a primary interface with equipment vendors for resolving problems.
- Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require modification.
- Assists in development of new policies and procedures as necessary.
- Participates in procurement of RMA network equipment.
- Prepares and maintains technical documentation to guide network users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the network.
Experience Required
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management, staff and equipment vendors.
- Knowledge of secure network switching/routing and layer 1 cabling.
- Knowledge of research methods and techniques for networking solutions.
- Knowledge of principles of business system analysis, including the analysis of procedures, equipment and methods.
- Ability to quickly evaluate and resolve customer problems directly with customers.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and present research findings
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, vendors and users is crucial.
Education Required
- Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience with wide and local area networks including experience with common-carrier data network.
- An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Experience utilizing network management tools such as Solar Winds and Service Now.
- Preferred Training, Certifications and/or Other Special Requirements: CCNA
