12 month Fixed Term Contract

Here at Ocado Logistics, it’s our mission to provide an outstanding customer experience for our partners, developing groundbreaking technology, opening multiple sites at an accelerating rate, and engaging in exciting new business partnerships around the world—changing the way the world shops, for good.

We are the beating heart of our UK business, comprising a network of cutting-edge warehouses and offices across the country. We optimise our supply chain using proprietary technology to deliver an exceptional shopping experience while providing a career where no two days are ever the same.

About the role:

We’re looking for a Planner – Workforce to join our team at Ocado Logistics. This critical role exists to ensure our manpower resources are effectively managed to meet customer demand, deliver operational excellence, and maintain compliance with legal, health, and safety standards. The role is a 12-month full-time fixed-term contract, hybrid with 2 days per week at our Hatfield Head Office, and is shift-based to support our 24/7 operation, including regular weekends.

You will play a key role in helping Ocado Logistics run efficiently by managing labour resources, rostering, and supporting both internal teams and external agencies to ensure delivery on time, every time.

You will be:

  • Manage all available manpower resources to meet customer demand while maintaining KPI metrics (e.g., surplus, overtime).
  • Maintain accurate Time and Attendance data and manage employee holiday, swaps, and overtime requests.
  • Provide labour requirements for agencies and monitor their performance and shift fulfilment.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Planning, People, and Finance teams.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of efficiency initiatives.

About you:

  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused, people-oriented approach.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to changing priorities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with experience handling operational data in Excel, Word, and G Suite.
  • Experience in planning resources in transport, warehouse, or retail environments is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work under pressure as part of a collaborative team.

At Ocado, we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. You’ll find a safe, collaborative atmosphere, an award-winning recognition programme, and a benefits package designed to support your well-being and career development, including:

  • Flexible Work: 30 days of 'work from anywhere' policy for a balanced life.
  • Wellbeing Support: Access to dedicated apps and an Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Generous Leave: Begin with 25 days, growing to 27 after 5 years, with an option to buy more.
  • Pension Plan: Up to 7% employer contribution matching.
  • Private Medical Cover and Financial Protection, including Income Protection and Life Insurance.
  • Family-Friendly Policies: Maternity, adoption, shared parental, and paternity leave.
  • Financial Aid: Interest-free train tickets and Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Shuttle Services: Free shuttle buses to work.
  • Share Schemes: Participate in our success with employee share plans.
  • Shopping Perks: 15% discount on Ocado.com and savings at popular retailers and restaurants.

Hiring Process:

  • This is a critical role in our Planning team.
  • The process will be 2 stages, including a CV/initial assessment and an interview stage with operational stakeholders.

Ocado Group is an equal opportunities employer and as such makes every effort to ensure that all potential employees are treated fairly and equally, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, marital status, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, age, disability, or union membership status.
