As an Agile Coach, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating our agile transformation journey in leading the agile enablement across cross-functional technology teams, driving adoption of agile principles, engineering best practices, and delivery excellences by robust sprint planning, user stories, backlog creation, prioritization, estimations, demos, retro, etc.
Your focus will be on partnering with cross-functional teams and their direct leaders to enhance agility by building reporting in JIRA/BI (cycle time, work volume, deployment frequency, sprint variabilities, velocity trends, etc.)
This role is hands-on coaching and lead by example to demonstrate and influence senior leaders as they continue their mindset shift toward agile leadership, establishing one center of excellence (coe), communities of practice (cop), agile maturity assessment (ami), etc.) and embedding agile ways of working into the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Agile and Technical Coaching
- Embed Agile principles into daily practices, facilitate agile workshops with cross functional team and leaders on agile ceremonies and effective sprint planning, user stories/backlog creations, prioritizations, demos, retro, etc.
- Coach engineering teams, tech leads, and architects on agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS) and technical practices (CI/CD, TDD, DevOps).
- Mentor Scrum Masters and Product Owners to drive backlog refinement, prioritization and locking user stories for a minimum of 6 upcoming sprints, value delivery in line with product roadmap.
- Lead agile transformation initiatives with cross-functional teams across to align agile practices with strategic organizational goals, enabling multiple agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid).
- Enable leadership mindset shifts: Work with senior leaders to build supportive environments for empowered teams. Promote agile mindset and continuous improvement of culture across technology teams.
- Facilitate continuous improvement: Identify challenges, anti-agile patterns across teams, designing, leading interventions to improve predictability, throughput, and quality.
- Measure and grow agility: Build and track, agile metrics (cycle time, frequency deployment, work volume, sprint variability, velocity trends, etc.), build JIRA dashboards and BI reporting capabilities.
- Support implementation of DevOps, automated testing, and continuous delivery.
- Guide teams on technical agility, including modular architecture, pair programming, and trunk-based development.
- Establish metrics to measure technical agility including enablement of BlueOptima across portfolio for developers’ productivity.
- Design and deliver agile training programs tailored for technology teams.
- Establish communities of practice (cop), agile centers of excellence (coe)
- Conduct agile maturity assessments (ami) and develop improvement roadmaps.
- Develop and maintain agile playbooks, maturity models, and coaching frameworks.
- 8+ years in agile environments, with 5+ years as an agile coach for global tech teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including ability to influence stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of software engineering practices and agile delivery models.
- Experience with SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean principles.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and agile tooling (Jira, Confluence).
- SAFe SPC, ICAgile Certified Professional, or equivalent certifications.
- Background in software development or systems engineering.
- Experience in large-scale agile transformations within enterprise tech environments.
- Certifications such as PMI-ACP, CSP, or DevOps-related credentials, agile tooling (Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps) and metrics.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills.
