About Qargo
Qargo is a cloud-based (SAAS) Transport Management Platform, we are a scale-up based in London and Ghent (Belgium) and rapidly expanding across Europe. The platform is an ‘all-in-one system’ doing everything from initial order entries to final invoicing, optimising planning and has a built in AI feature automating lengthy manual tasks. It is designed to help modern logistics operations run more efficiently, whilst increasing businesses profitability and sustainability. We’re looking for a Software Engineer, especially Backend, to join our team in Ghent. What You'll Do
✅ You'll be focused on back-end development of the system, contributing to the core functionality of our TMS platform and working mainly with Python, Django, GraphQL, Postgres, Kubernetes (k8s), PubSub, and Google Cloud.
✅ You’ll work on core product features, Cloud infrastructure improvements and Backend code improvements, ensuring all systems can support the growth of our customer base.

What We're Looking for
✅ You have a Master’s degree in IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering and at least 2 years of experience in backend development.
✅ Passion for solving complex technical challenges and designing scalable software solutions. You understand technical tradeoffs and make pragmatic decisions.
✅ A growth mindset—eager to learn, experiment, and expand your knowledge.
✅ Strong problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
✅ A user-first mentality—you care about the real-world impact of your work.
✅ Enthusiasm for collaborative teamwork and a willingness to share knowledge and accomplish shared goals.
✅ Experience with writing and understanding complex SQL queries in Postgres & Google Cloud BigQuery is a plus.
✅ Knowledge of distributed queueing systems at scale is a nice to have.
✅ Lastly, experience with large production Python codebases also earns you bonus points.
