At Micro Matic, we believe in fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. Since 1953, we have been the global market leader in developing and producing innovative equipment for beverage dispensing. With around 1,600 employees, factories in 10 countries, and sales offices across the globe, we are committed to quality, customer service, and state-of-the-art solutions. Join us in an environment that supports the growth and development of all our employees.
Job Description:
Are you passionate about building the data foundation that drives business decisions? Micro Matic is seeking a talented Analytics Engineer to join our growing data team. You will play a crucial role in our data transformation, sitting at the intersection of data engineering, data analysis, and business intelligence. You will act as the crucial bridge between our technical data platform and our business users, ensuring that complex data is transformed into meaningful, actionable insights that empower strategic decision-making across our global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
As our Analytics Engineer, you will play a key role in building our analytical data layer. You will own the data transformation process and be the critical link between our raw data sources and our business intelligence platforms. Your main areas of focus will include:
- Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications for data models.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data models using dbt on our Databricks platform.
- Write clean, high-quality, and well-tested SQL to transform raw data into analytics-ready datasets.
- Implement robust data quality tests, automated documentation, and CI/CD processes to ensure the reliability and trustworthiness of our data.
- Manage our dbt codebase using version control best practices with GitHub.
- Develop and optimize the core data models that power dashboards and reports in Power BI.
- Serve as a champion for data literacy, helping stakeholders understand and use data effectively.
About You:
We are looking for an experienced data professional who combines strong engineering principles with a deep understanding of business analytics. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and collaborator who is just as comfortable writing complex SQL as they are explaining data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field like Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in a data-focused role such as Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, BI Development, or Data Analysis (with a strong technical focus).
Technical Skills:
- Expert-level SQL skills are essential.
- Proven, hands-on experience building production-level data models with dbt.
- Experience working with a modern cloud data platform (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Proficiency with version control using Git/GitHub.
- Experience building data models for BI tools; direct experience with Power BI is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with data quality principles and automated testing frameworks.
Core Competencies:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic, detail-oriented approach.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and business teams.
- A passion for data quality, documentation, and building robust, maintainable systems.
- Business acumen and a genuine curiosity to understand the "why" behind data requests.
- Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional, collaborative teams.
Language Skills:
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
Why Join Us?:
- Be part of a forward-thinking company that is investing heavily in building a modern data stack.
- Work in a collaborative and supportive global team with opportunities for professional growth.
- Build the data foundation that will directly shape Micro Matic's business strategy and have a real impact on the business.
If you are an analytics enthusiast with a passion for building clean, reliable data solutions, we would love to hear from you!
