Who are we?
Ansana is bringing a new sterilization technology to hospitals in the US and Europe. Our main focus is on reprocessing surgical instruments - a critical process where errors can directly compromise patient safety by causing surgical site infections.
Our mission is to improve patient safety while also driving cost efficiency and sustainability. We tackle this by digitalizing and optimizing the reprocessing flow, ensuring that the right instruments reach the right surgery, at the right time, and in the right condition.
Your role
Right now, Ansana is developing a standardized process mapping approach to help hospitals uncover bottlenecks in their reprocessing flow. At the core of this is our Impact Model: a comprehensive framework that combines data on capacity, inventory, staffing, finances, and sterilization processes to give a complete picture of hospital performance. By connecting these data points, we use the model to uncover inefficiencies and highlight opportunities for improvement.
As an intern, you will play a key role in bringing this model to life. Working closely with our team, you’ll gain hands-on experience in analyzing hospital data, exploring digital solutions, and supporting the development of a tool that can help hospitals plan for growth, solve roadblocks, and optimize resources.
You will be directly exposed to real healthcare technology challenges, while building your technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone who is curious, eager to learn, and excited about tackling real healthcare challenges with us. You enjoy solving problems with data and technology, and you’re motivated by the idea of creating tools that can make hospitals safer and more efficient.
· Master’s student in Computer Science or a related field.
· Strong programming skills and interest in applying them to real-world challenges.
· Professional communicator in English, able to share ideas clearly and confidently.
· Enthusiastic about healthcare, new technologies, and innovation.
· Adaptive and flexible in a constantly changing environment.
· A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
· You must have the right to work in the Netherlands. Due to limited resources, we do not provide relocation support or visa sponsorship, so it is preferred that you are already located in the Netherlands.
· Please note: to be considered for this internship, you must provide either a UNL or NUFFIC agreement from your university. Applicants without one of these agreements will not be eligible for hire.
The opportunity
· A remote internship of 4-6 months (24h-40h per week).
· The chance to contribute to a real healthcare innovation with a direct impact on patient safety and hospital efficiency.
· Guidance and support from our team, who enjoy sharing knowledge and working together on challenges.
· You will be working on exciting projects for hospitals located both in the USA as in Europe.
· An internship compensation of €600 per month.
