FUJIFILM VISUALSONICS ( and it's mother company Fujifilm Sonosite, with an office in Amsterdam) is a World Leader in Ultra High-Frequency Ultrasound and Photoacoustic imaging technologies (www.visualsonics.com).

For one of our ongoing funded project, we are looking for a Research Scientist/Post doc in the field of Photoacoustic Instrumentation and Signal processing. In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to work in an Industry-Academic alliance and undertake cutting-edge research in close cooperation with hospitals.

The Research Scientist will be in charge of:

• The development of a novel and miniaturized hardware for photoacoustic imaging and conducting imaging studies on both pre-clinical models and translational research.
• The implementation of a new light delivery, advanced image processing, and automated methods to interpret the images are key parts of this project.

If you have a Ph.D. (preferably) or a Master (with relevant experience) in biomedical engineering or a closely related field, we are looking for you. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant experience in Photoacoustics, Ultrasound imaging, image processing, and proficiency in Matlab programming. Interested applicants should have a strong track record of research accomplishments. Project management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in our highly collaborative team environment is an asset.

Experience with some or all of the following would be advantageous:

• Optical and acoustic simulation tools (e.g. Monte Carlo simulations, K-wave)
• Signal processing and Image reconstruction
• Optical instrumentation

If you are highly motivated, creative, independent, and interested in a multi- disciplinary approach involving optics, therapeutics, and translational research you are the right match for this project.
