AI/ML Engineer
About Us

At Brayns, we're not building just another compliance tool - we're engineering a living, intelligent system. Designed from the ground up as an AI-native compliance organism, Brayns transforms how companies approach KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, and regulatory intelligence.

Our mission is to replace traditional workflows with autonomous AI agents that can reason, act, and adapt at scale. By unifying fragmented compliance processes into a single self-learning system, we enable businesses to move faster, stay compliant, and outpace risk.

The Role

We're looking for a world-class AI Engineer to help us build, train, and optimize the intelligence layer of the Brayns organism. You'll work closely with our founding team, compliance experts, and product engineers to design agents that think, learn, and evolve.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about applied AI - especially in complex, real-world domains like finance, law, or enterprise automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement intelligent agents capable of automating KYC/KYB, AML detection, and compliance reasoning.
  • Work on training, fine-tuning, and evaluating LLMs and domain-specific models using proprietary and synthetic datasets.
  • Collaborate with product and compliance teams to translate complex workflows into agentic reasoning chains and decision frameworks.
  • Develop agent memory, reflection, and improvement loops - enabling Brayns to learn from outcomes and adapt.
  • Optimize for performance, latency, and cost while maintaining high levels of precision and reliability.
  • Stay current with AI research (e.g. open-agent frameworks, RAG, tool use, multi-agent coordination) and apply relevant breakthroughs to Brayns.

Who You Are
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering (with at least 2 years building agentic or LLM-based systems).
  • Deep familiarity with transformer models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agent frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, or similar.
  • Experience building systems that integrate with APIs, external tools, or structured knowledge bases.
  • Strong coding skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, HuggingFace, OpenAI APIs).
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, high-autonomy environments - ideally from previous startups or high-ownership roles.
  • Passion for building AI that solves critical, non-trivial problems in regulated industries.
  • Bonus: experience with compliance, fintech, or legaltech use cases.
