The world of ESG Reporting is rapidly and continuously changing. As a Back-end Developer, you will help grow and improve our product by building an efficient and scalable Back-end infrastructure to support our data driven SaaS ESG platform. You will work closely with the front-end and dev-ops teams to build and maintain new functionality and find new and innovative ways to increase the performance and maintainability of our platform using AI and applying high coding standards.

What You Will Be Doing 

As a Back-end developer at Salacia Solutions, you will play a key role in increasing our development and delivery speed, increasing the impact we can make on our planet through the usage of our tools by our customers. 

Your Responsibilities 

• Develop and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs 
• Collaborate with front-end developers, data engineers, and product managers 
• Design and implement database schemas and data pipelines 
• Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and documentation 
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy 
• Help improve performance, security, and reliability of the platform 
• Stay up to date with back-end trends and best practices 
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and best practices 

What are we looking for: 

• 3–5 years of experience in back-end development 
• Proficiency in Python (bonus points for Typescript, Go) 
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture 
• Solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases 
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) 
• Passion for clean, maintainable code and good software practices 
• Interest in ESG, sustainability, or impact-driven tech 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills (Working language: English) 
• Not afraid to work at a highly dynamic scale-up 
• Able to work at our centrally located office in Rotterdam a few days a week
