Senior Java Developer – E-commerce Platform


Location: Stockholm (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office)

Type: Permanent

You’ll be joining a medium-sized IT team (around 50–60 people plus consultants) that’s currently transitioning away from external contractors to build internal capability.


The Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Java Developer to help evolve and scale a high-traffic e-commerce platform that serves both private and public sector clients. You’ll play a key role in building robust backend systems that support complex product catalogues, dynamic pricing, and seamless customer experiences.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services for a large-scale e-commerce platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, UX, and infrastructure
  • Optimise performance and scalability of existing systems
  • Integrate with third-party APIs and internal services
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy
  • Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and documentation


Tech Stack:

  • Java (Spring Boot)
  • RESTful APIs
  • SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Azure (preferred)
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with microservices and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus


What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience in backend development with Java
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce systems and transactional platforms
  • Experience in agile development environments
  • Fluency in Swedish and English (required)
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, IT, or related field
