Do you dream in APIs? Is your spirit animal a server farm? Tired of “synergy” and “stakeholders” but energized by real chaos, real code, and really good coffee? Excellent. Our band of misfits needs a fearless Technical Lead (Backend) to herd coders, vanquish bugs, and occasionally explain why “it works on my machine” is not a valid excuse.
The Role

Our band of misfits needs a fearless Technical Lead (Backend) to herd coders, vanquish bugs, and occasionally explain why “it works on my machine” is not a valid excuse.
The Role
- Lead a small (or big?) team of backend legends through sprints, coffee runs, and push-to-prod nights.
- Be the wise mentor, the spirited motivator, and the person everyone messages when “the system is on fire.”
- Own key backend systems and architecture like a proud dragon sitting atop a hoard of beautiful, well-documented APIs.
- Keep meetings short, code quality high, and spirits even higher.
- Survived at least 3 years leading tech adventurers into release cycles and out the other side.
- Have 6+ years Deep Golang expertise + developing backend masterpieces.
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and low-level performance concepts.
- Prefer code reviews with gifs, build pipelines that might occasionally dance, and database tables that don’t make your eyes bleed. (In other words: PostgreSQL mastery — you know how to model data, write efficient queries, design indexes, and debug performance bottlenecks at scale.)
- Scalability engineering mindset — you’ve designed, profiled, and optimized systems that scale to high loads and high reliability.
- Continuous Delivery champion — experience with modern CI/CD pipelines, feature flags, and releasing fast without breaking things.
- Know what cloud means (not the white ones but with AWS (Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS, S3, etc.))… and not just the kind you wish you saw more of.
- Production mindset — observability, error handling, graceful degradation, edge cases — you build for reality, not just happy paths.
- Have startup grit — you laugh in the face of ambiguity, chaos is your jam, and you’ve written prod code at weird hours.
