Senior 5G Core Software Development Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior 5G Core Development Engineer to join our team in building next-generation mobile core network solutions. This role involves designing and developing cloud-native network functions aligned with 3GPP standards, contributing to scalable and resilient 5G infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop 5G Core Network functions such as AMF, SMF, PCF, NRF, and UDM in compliance with 3GPP specifications (e.g., TS 23.501, 29.500)

• Build and manage REST/gRPC APIs for inter-network function communication

• Develop microservices-based architectures for core network components

• Deploy services using container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) across public and private cloud environments

• Integrate code into CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth rollouts and updates

• Maintain and enhance observability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack

• Contribute to open-source telecom projects and documentation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing 5G SBA (Service-Based Architecture) network functions

• Strong programming skills in C/C++, Go or Java

• Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes for cloud-native deployments

• Solid understanding of 3GPP standards (TS 23.501, 23.502, 29.500 series)

• Experience with Linux networking, scripting (Shell, Python), and debugging tools

• Familiarity with network function virtualization (NFV) and service mesh technologies

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to orchestration frameworks like ONAP or OSM

• Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Robot Framework)

• Knowledge of security protocols and authentication mechanisms in 5G

• Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack

• Contributions to open-source telecom or cloud-native projects

• Ability to lead small teams or mentor junior engineers
