Why Autronica?
At Autronica, you're joining a leading innovator, manufacturer, and supplier of fire and gas safety systems worldwide. Our solutions protect lives and assets on land, at sea, and in demanding industries like petrochemical, oil, and gas. Headquartered in Trondheim, Norway's technology hotspot, we combine global presence with local expertise. Our greatest strength is our people: their expertise, creativity, and passion. Join us and make a difference.
About the role
Do you want to be part of our Trondheim-based R&D team working toward a safer future? At Autronica, our mission is to eliminate loss of life, injuries, and damage caused by fire and gas. We are expanding and creating a brand-new cross functional team—giving you the opportunity to be part of something fresh, with a clear purpose from day one.
We are hiring two Full Stack Software Engineers to help design reliable, user-friendly interfaces for our safety-critical systems. In this role, you will have a real impact on the way our systems are built and experienced, shaping solutions that directly contribute to safety in critical environments.
You’ll contribute across our evolving technology stack, which includes both mature and modern components:
- Core system: Linux-based, with established modules built in C/C++, Qt, NodeJS, OpenGL, and Bash.
- Next-generation platform: under development using Rust and Flutter.
- System architecture: module-based, with communication via APIs over TCP/IP and Unix pipes.
In this role you will bridge technical implementation and user experience, ensuring our systems are not only robust and secure, but also intuitive to operate—even in high-pressure situations.
Your Responsibilities
As a Full Stack Software Engineer you will:
- Design and build intuitive, responsive user interfaces for safety-critical systems.
- Develop engaging user experiences focused on clarity and usability under pressure.
- Implement frontend solutions using frameworks like React, Qt and Flutter.
- Create and maintain backend logic and APIs using NodeJS and PostgreSQL.
- Collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and developers.
- Conduct usability testing and iterate based on user feedback.
- Ensure cross-platform compatibility and responsive design.
- Optimize applications for performance and scalability.
- Maintain code quality through testing and reviews.
- Stay current on frontend tech and UX trends.
Who you are
You combine technical expertise with user-focused thinking. With a sharp eye for design, empathy for end users, and a collaborative mindset, you turn complex systems into intuitive experiences. Self-driven and eager to learn, you’re passionate about usability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
