Warneford 200 is a project to commemorate over 200 years of mental health services provided at the Warneford Hospital in Oxford through a series of events and exhibitions over 2026 and is being coordinated by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust’s charity (Oxford Health Charity – OHC). Following a successful application for funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, OHC are now recruiting a Project Officer role to drive the delivery of the projects over the year including events, exhibitions, communications work and other commemorative projects. This is a full time 12-month fixed term contract and can be offered as a secondment opportunity.

You'll report to the Head of Charity and work with other key project leads already working on the project. A Warneford 200 Delivery Group is in place to plan and coordinate project delivery and the successful candidate will play a key role in this group and success of the project as well as with other local stakeholders involved in the commemoration year.

  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive W200 project plans, including confirming project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Identify and allocate resources, set timelines, and establish project milestones reporting to the W200 Delivery Group, Head of Charity (line management) and where required the Charity Committee;
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress against milestones and deliverables through development of effective project controls e.g. project plan, action log, risk register, etc Prepare and present regular status reports to stakeholders and senior management and grant bodies as required;
  • Stakeholder Management & Communications: Engage with key W200 stakeholders (working with other project leads focused on engagement), including volunteers, service users, experts by experience, and community members. Develop and deliver a W200 Communications Plan working with the Trust’s Communication Team;
  • Budget and Resource Management: Monitor project budgets, escalate approvals to head of charity and senior W200 leads, and ensure efficient use of resources. Identify and address any financial risks or issues.
