About Drillia

Drillia is an AI-powered sports platform, starting with basketball and expanding into other sports. We help grassroots coaches and players improve through AI video insights, practice management, and interactive tools. Backed by experienced professionals and athletes, Drillia is on a mission to democratise access to high-quality coaching.

The Role

We are looking for a CTO to join our leadership team and take ownership of Drillia’s tech vision. You will lead the architecture, development, and scaling of our platform (web + mobile), working closely with the CEO, product team and early partners.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a sports-tech product from the ground up and bring cutting-edge AI technology to thousands of players and coaches worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Define and own Drillia’s technology strategy and architecture (AI, video, data, cloud infrastructure).
• Lead the development of our platform (iOS/Android/web) with outsourced teams and later build an in-house dev team.
• Drive AI/ML integration (voice analysis, video clipping, stats insights) into the product.
• Ensure scalability, security, and cost-efficient infrastructure (AWS, APIs, etc.).
• Collaborate with CEO and product team on roadmap & feature prioritization.
• Represent Drillia to investors and partners as the technical face of the company.

Requirements

• Proven experience in software architecture and full-stack/mobile development.
• Solid background in AI/ML applications (preferably video, NLP, or sports analytics).
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Track record of building or leading tech teams in a startup or scale-up.
• Entrepreneurial mindset: you thrive in ambiguity, take ownership, and move fast.
• Passion for sports and technology.

Nice to Have

• Experience with video processing, generative AI, or sports data.
• Prior involvement in marketplace platforms or consumer apps.
• Previous startup CTO / early-stage founding tech role.
• Experience as Sports athlete, coach or Sports Director.
