VALE Partners has been engaged by a highly successful Australian business entering an exciting new phase of growth after a recent investment. They are looking to hire a Backend Software Engineer to join a technically strong and curious team responsible for the backbone of their application stack.

This is a hands-on role focused on backend development within a complex hybrid environment. You'll be working with a group of engineers who own a wide range of services and infrastructure, ensuring the development and production environments run smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain robust web applications using C#, modern .NET and SQL
• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and QA to deliver reliable and maintainable features.
• Apply software design patterns and best practices to produce efficient, high-quality code while contributing to system architecture discussions.
• Support and enhance internal developer tooling, including deployment and build systems, to improve team workflows.
• Participate in support for production systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

What You'll Ideally Bring

• Hands on experience building and maintaining applications using the latest .NET stack while working in a team that practices DevOps and TDD.
• Comfort working in hybrid environments, understanding the unique challenges of both cloud and on-prem systems.
• A collaborative mindset, a high degree of ownership over your work, and a curiosity for new tools and practices.
• An enjoyment for problem-solving and a desire to improve developer workflows and support critical production systems.
