To expand our team at the Linz site, we are looking for you as Senior Embedded Electronics HW Design Engineer (f/m/d/x)
What are my responsibilities?
General responsibilities
- Collaboration in concept creation and system design of electronic and electromechanical assemblies/systems/interfaces
- Analysis of requirements
- Product development:
- electronic circuit design (schematics)
- PCB/PCBA layout design
- Wiring harnesso
- component specification
- Support to specify the HW / SW interfaces and creation of technical requirements/specifications
- Support to create test concepts for PCB/PCBA validation (durability, EMC/EMI, stress testing, etc.) and serial production (quality assurance)
- Collaboration with internal and external development partners
- Technical contact with suppliers, production sites
- Technical support for the construction, commissioning and testing of prototypes and verification measurements of electronics assemblies and devices
- Development processes and documentation in accordance with relevant regulatory provisions
- Design, develop, and validate embedded hardware systems based on microcontrollers, DSPs, and communication interfaces
- Perform schematic design and PCB/PCBA layoutdesign by using Altium Designer (experience with other EDA tools is a plus)
- Develop and integrate communication electronics (e.g., UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, LIN, NFC, Ethernet, IO-Link, industrial fieldbuses such as ProfiNet, EtherCAT, Modbus, wireless)
- Conduct electronics simulation and analysis (analog, digital, power, and signal integrity)
- Define and implement hardware bring-up, testing, and debugging procedures
- Collaborate with firmware engineers to ensure seamless hardware–software integration
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, IPC, UL, EMC/EMI, safety, reliability, automotive/industrial if applicable)
- Support prototype assembly, verification, and validation through PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes
- Contribute to documentation, design reviews, and continuous product improvement
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in embedded hardware development
- Proficiency in schematics design and PCB/PCBA design with Altium Designer
- Strong knowledge of microcontroller-based system design, including power supplies
- Experience in circuit simulation tools (e.g., LTSpice, PSpice, Multisim, MATLAB/Simulink)
- Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design (op-amps, ADC/DAC, filters, power regulation)
- Proven expertise in EMI/EMC design techniques and compliance-oriented hardware design
- Familiarity with PCBA manufacturing processes (DFM/DFT, BOM preparation, assembly constraints, test strategy)
- Practical debugging experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other lab equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize hardware designs for performance, cost, and reliability
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English (at least B2 level)
