Our Center for Digital Safety & Security located in Vienna invites applications for an internship. Our experts from the Center for Digital Safety & Security are developing state-of-the-art information and communication technologies to ensure that our systems are highly secure and reliable in the context of comprehensive digitalisation and global networking – Hereby we focus on a variety of key technologies like Distributed IT Systems, Internet of Things, IoT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain Technologies, Quantum & Photonic Technologies, Wireless Systems (6G) and Digital solutions for crisis & disaster management.
The research field Computer Vision within our Competence Unit “ Data Science & Artificial Intelligence ” is leading in applied research of highly innovative aspects for efficient computer vision applications as well model design.
CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY & SECURITY
- Under the guidance of our interdisciplinary team, you will work on 3D reconstruction algorithms (point clouds, Gaussian Splatting) to record and reconstruct a real environment on the fly.
- You will implement a VR application to visualize the reconstructed environment and work on camera calibration techniques to register labels set in Mixed Reality glasses to the reconstructed mesh
- You will implement techniques to label damages in Mixed Reality.
- You will gain practical experience with one of the leading research companies in Austria.
- You support us in our international project and get exciting insights into our technological environment.
- You already have your bachelor’s degree and are enrolled at an Austrian university in your Master’s studies in the field of Informatics / Software Engineering / Game Engineering / Computer Graphics / Computer Vision / Visual Computing or similar
- Very good know-how in C++ and Python
- Know-how about point clouds & stereo cameras
- Very strong know-how about efficient development on mobile platforms (Ideal: Know how about development on Nvidia Jetson Boards)
- Good know-how in Camera-calibration
- Good Know-how in Unity3D
- Interest to work in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate on different topics.
- Good verbal and written English skills (team language is English), German skills would be a plus.
- Duration of the internship: 6-12 months
- Start date: ideally November 2025 – However there is some flexibility concerning the start-date
- A remuneration of EUR 1.415,-- gross per month for 38.5 hours per week. In addition to our company benefits, we offer flexible working conditions and work experience in a highly innovative environment.
