Freelance React Developer – Ghent Region

Hays is currently looking for a freelance React Developer for a client in the Ghent area to join an ongoing digital transformation project.

Role and Responsibilities

You will take an active role within the front-end team and collaborate closely with UX designers and back-end developers. You’ll be responsible for thoroughly testing applications and performing code reviews. Your main tasks include developing performant and scalable React components, enhancing user experience, and integrating new functionalities. You’ll contribute to technical decision-making and help maintain the quality of the codebase.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a front-end developer, including several years with React
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science
• Strong knowledge of React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Redux, and REST APIs
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, and component-based development
• Familiarity with testing frameworks is a plus
• Able to work independently, communicate clearly, and think in solutions
• Languages: English + Dutch or French
• On site presence in Ghent
