The Country Manager for Finland & Baltics is the overall leader of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud business in this region. This is a senior leadership position, responsible for the business results, strategy and go-to-market for AWS across all sales segments and functions in the region, while directly leading the Enterprise Sales teams. The role is based out of Helsinki, Finland and reports to our Managing Director of Europe North (Nordics, Baltics, Benelux) as a member of the Europe North Senior Leadership team.
The Country manager has responsibility for the entire AWS commercial business in these countries, including Greenfield pursuits, the Public Sector and Specialty Segments (ISV, Startups & Small-Medium business). The right candidate must be an effective leader of both the direct report Enterprise organization and matrix functions, bringing everyone together to execute their plans and grow the region. This role requires a seasoned sales professional with a GM or Country-leadership background. They will also be a self-starter that will own, develop and execute the AWS strategy in Finland & the Baltics. They must deliver through their team, as well as drive effective engagement with customer CXO and SVP level business and technical executives, and achieve scale through partner, marketing and the Inside Sales Centre function. As a second line manager role, this leader must be adept at both hiring and developing managers as well as sales reps, and at scaling through their team. The right candidate brings deep and strong C-level relationships and experience (business and IT/CIO functions) with strong business acumen and executive presence that enables them to convince customer executives, governments, partners, regulators, and press that AWS is the right strategic partner to help businesses across every industry to achieve their objectives and transform for the AI era.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead all regional teams in developing and executing a comprehensive go-to-market strategy, by vertical and segment, leveraging the full strength of Amazon and AWS to accelerate revenue growth.
- Hire, develop and retain a high-performing Enterprise sales team, build opportunity pipeline with high standards, and drive revenue growth and user adoption through the team.
- Lead the local Country Leadership team consisting of segment sales leaders and functional leaders (Solution Architects, Professional Services, Partner, Marketing, Finance, Operations, etc.).
- Build and leverage C-suite relationships with external stakeholders (customers, partners, government, regulatory bodies, press/media) to further adoption of AWS services in the market.
- Lead the team in creation of a compelling “AWS in Finland & Baltics” brand narrative and serve as the senior executive ambassador for AWS in the region, cultivating strategic relationships with C-level customers, key partners, government officials, and media representatives to enhance AWS's market presence and brand leadership.

- Represent a consolidated view of the Finland & Baltics business, financial and operational results across all commercial sector sales segments and functions as part of EMEA North and EMEA Leadership forums.
- Overall responsible for the legal entity in Finland & Baltics, including people and site strategy execution, cost center/budget ownership and other signatory responsibilities as delegated.
- Extensive executive leadership experience in managing complex, multi-functional organizations
- Proven success in enterprise sales and large-scale digital transformation initiatives
- Deep understanding of cloud technology's impact on business strategies within large enterprises, SMBs, DNBs, ISV, and startups across industries and including understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain high-level executive relationships
- Excellent communication skills including confidence in public speaking and fluency in English and Finnish plus deep knowledge of Finnish business culture including a strong customer and partner network
- Experience working across Nordic and Baltic regions
- Multilingual capabilities, including Baltic languages
- Background in multi-cultural and international business environments
- Strong strategic thinking and adaptability
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop leadership talent
