Join our dynamic team as a Data Analyst for Commodity Risk Management. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your expertise in data management and commodity risk management and contribute to energy transition in an innovative Nordic energy company with a clear vision and drive.
About the Role
As a Data Analyst for Commodity Risk Management you will play a key role in developing our data management solutions which contribute to St1’s commodity risk position reporting and operative P&L analysis. You will be located in Helsinki, report to the head of the Commodity Risk and be part of the Finance unit. The position is full-time and permanent.
The role has a strong emphasis on development, with the majority of your time dedicated to enhancing tools and processes, and automating manual tasks. You will have a genuine opportunity to influence and develop data management solutions from the ground up.
The place of work in this role is the St1 headquarters located in Pasila, Helsinki, with occasional travel within Europe.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Develop and manage data systems and related ETL work processes.
- Build transparent processes for capturing data to support accurate and reliable position reporting and P&L analysis.
- Support developing robust data storage solutions that align with business needs.
- Collaborate with in-house IT resources and external consultants to design and implement efficient software solutions.
- Participate in calculating and reporting St1's daily commodity risks and analyzing the value chain P&L.
- Participate in calculating and reconciling risk management monthly results.
- Participate in developing risk management tools, position reports, solutions and processes.
- Collaboration with business units and finance teams (e.g. Energy Trading, Power, Treasury, Business Control).
What We Are Looking for
- A university degree in a relevant field (e.g. commercial or technical).
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Finnish language skills are considered an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of expertise in data management (data lake solutions, ETL processes).
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Power BI and Excel. Experience in a Databricks environment is an advantage.
- Experience in commodity risk management is a plus, but not essential.
- Curious and proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
