About the Job
Why Carbon Dioxide Removal Matters?
To avert catastrophic climate change and align with the 1.5°C target, large-scale Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) is essential. Leading organizations like the UN IPCC and IEA highlight the need for billions of tonnes of CDR annually by 2050. Scaling this sector requires CDR buyers to identify high-quality, durable projects that can reliably deliver impact. At ClimeFi, we’re at the forefront of this mission.
ClimeFi’s Role in CDR
As one of the top 15 global buyers of CDR, ClimeFi empowers corporations to navigate the complex CDR market. Our platform spans Intelligence, Procurement, and Portfolio Management, and we collaborate with industry leaders like Adyen, LEGO, and BCG to drive meaningful progress.
Our Vision and Values
ClimeFi strives to accelerate the world’s transition to net zero by enabling the removal of billions of tonnes of carbon by 2050. Integrity, teamwork, and a transformative mindset are at the core of everything we do.
Your Mission and Responsibilities
At ClimeFi, we’re building the technology backbone for the carbon removal market. Our internal admin platform powers how we manage data, workflows, and ratings across the industry. In 2026, we’re rebuilding this platform into a React app with a modern design system to make it faster, more intuitive, and scalable.
As our Engineering Intern, you’ll have end-to-end ownership of a high-impact project: migrating our current tool from a low-code setup to a production-ready front-end built with React, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, and shadcn. You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering teammates, shape the design system, and see your work used daily by the entire ClimeFi team.
This internship is designed to give you real product ownership in a high-growth startup environment. For the right candidate, it can evolve into a full-time role.
What You’ll Do
- Rebuild the Admin Platform: Lead the migration of our admin tool from a low-code base to a React + Shadcn app.
- Design System: Create reusable, scalable UI components that will serve as the foundation for all internal tools.
- Integrations: Connect the front-end to backend APIs and cloud data systems (Postgres, BigQuery, Sigma).
- UX Improvements: Make our internal tools intuitive, responsive, and efficient for everyday workflows.
- Feedback & Iteration: Join design reviews, ship quickly, and iterate based on user feedback.
- Code Quality: Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with an eye on long-term scalability.
What We’re Looking For:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 2 years completed.
- Hands-on experience building UIs in React (through projects, internships, or coursework).
- Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and connecting to RESTful APIs.
- Comfort with modern UI frameworks (TailwindCSS, shadcn, or similar).
- Bonus: familiarity with Figma, Storybook, or design collaboration tools.
- Familiar with Git and development workflows (PRs, branching, code reviews).
- Curiosity for how front-end connects to databases, APIs, and cloud stacks.
- Self-driven and eager to learn in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Fluency in English (our working language) is a must; French or other languages are a plus.
- Extra points for experience using AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, v0/Vercel, ChatGPT).
About the Internship:
- Duration: 4–6 months, starting early 2026.
- Compensation: Competitive internship salary.
- Leave: 5 weeks annual leave (prorated).
- Perks: A sports-enthusiastic and international team, and real ownership of a critical product.
- Mentorship: Work directly with experienced engineers and product leads.
- Location: Paris office in the Opéra district (in-person). We believe the best collaboration happens face-to-face.
- Future: Internship may evolve into a full-time engineering role at ClimeFi.
