Job description Transmission Network Engineer (WDM / SDH / Optical / IP)
Join a dynamic and growing team shaping the future of transmission networks for top-tier telecom clients across Germany. We’re looking for a Transmission Network Engineer who’s passionate about transport technologies and eager to work on cutting-edge network infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to the planning, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of optical and packet-based transmission networks (e.g., WDM, SDH, ASON, Ethernet)
- Participate in the design and implementation of HLD and LLD (High/Low-Level Design) documents
- Support deployment, maintenance, and performance optimization of national and regional transmission systems
- Engage with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration across fiber optics (DWDM, FTTH, FTTB) and IP layers
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to address network escalations, resolve faults, and ensure SLA compliance
- Over time, develop expertise in transmission management systems, provisioning, and automation tools
Key Requirement
- Degree in Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Knowledge of transmission technologies: DWDM, SDH, Ethernet, ASON, or similar
- Understanding of optical networks, fiber infrastructure, or telecom systems
- Familiarity with network management tools and OSS/BSS platforms is a plus
- German (B2+) and English (professional proficiency) needed
- Willingness to travel within Germany when needed
